Total 120-122 credits – 120 credits required for graduation (total credits vary depending on credits assigned to required, elective, general education, AH major, and related cognate courses). Courses on P/F cannot be used to satisfy general education, AH major, and related cognate courses requirement.
*Class selection can vary. Students should meet with advisor to determine best courses to fulfill graduation requirements and career goals. The above sequence of courses is a sample. Actual sequencing may vary based on advising and student goals.
#Electives – The total number of elective courses needed to meet the 120 credits for graduation will vary depending on the number of credits assigned to each course. Students may need to take additional electives. Students should track credits for graduation carefully and take elective credits accordingly. Students can utilize electives to complete prerequisite requirements for advanced courses, minors, Experiential Global Learning (study abroad), internships, research, and/or courses required for graduate admissions. This plan of study assumes the foreign language is completed prior to admission to the university. If a language is required, students may take language courses as electives.
+Chemistry sequence: While the major allows different chemistry sequences to meet program requirements, chemistry sequence taken will be dependent on career goal and graduate program admission criteria. Students should consult with their advisor for appropriate courses to complete this requirement.
^All students beginning in Fall 2025 will be taking courses that fall into six Topics of Inquiry (TOIs) and three Competencies, while students who matriculated prior to Fall 2025 will continue to follow the General Education Curriculum. Transfer students will have the option to follow either the TOI requirements or the General Education Curriculum. Please consult with your advisor if you have questions.
