Saturday, May 9th, 6:00-7:30-pm at Gampel Pavilion

Important Commencement Information

What to Expect:

  • Reception 3:30-5:00pm Student Union Back Terrace/Patio
  • This is a great way to meet up with your friends, family, and faculty before the ceremony.  There will be food and ice cream.
  • There is no RSVP to attend.

5:00pm: Fieldhouse Line Up

You will be walking through metal detectors - please limit what you are carrying as there is nowhere to put it and you cannot go back to the Fieldhouse after the ceremony is done.  It will be locked.

There are no bathroom in the Fieldhouse.  Please plan ahead and use the bathrooms in the Student Union across the street.

Head to the Fieldhouse North Side to the roll up garage doors where you will enter.  Get in line to receive your name card and gold cord.  Once you have your name card, please head to the tables to fill out the phonetic spelling and then get in your designated line around the track.  The lines are designated by Departments.  Please see the chart below to determine which department you will be lining up with.  If you are a double major, please stand with your primary major.

5:35pm: Departing the Field House

Walking in 2 lines out the roll up door and onto Hillside Road.  Our UConn horses will be leading you down the road towards Gampel.  The walk is 0.2 milesPlease wear sensible shoes as you will be walking a lot and climbing stairs, both up and down and walking on the bleachers.

You will walk through the Natatorium doors, go down the stairs and turn left.  You will enter the floor at the NE corner.  Follow the line to sit with your department.  Once everyone is seated, the ceremony will start.

Other Notes:

  • Metal detectors will be in use at all ceremonies held in Gampel Pavilion, Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, and the Student Union Theatre.
  • You will be asked to remove cameras, cell phones, headwear, keys, and other large metal objects.
    You will not need to remove belts, coins, wallets, watches/jewelry.
  • ALL VENUES: Balloons, banners, signs, and umbrellas will NOT be permitted. You will be asked to leave them outside or return them to your vehicle. Other prohibited items include alcohol, weapons of any kind, outside food & beverage, cameras with detachable lenses, backpacks, noise makers, laser pointers, and bags larger than 12x6x12.
  • Photographs of guest tickets will not be accepted for entry. All guests must have a physical ticket for entry at all ceremony venues.

Regalia

Your are now able to purchase regalia through the UConn Bookstore here.

  • You may choose to ship your regalia to your home (shipping fee) or you may choose to ship your regalia to the closest UConn Bookstore location (no shipping fee). Pick up begins March 31, 2026.
  • Deadline for placing Ship to UConn Bookstore is February 21, 2026.
  • Deadline for placing Ship to Home orders is April 13, 2026.

Tickets

Graduates are allowed up to 10 tickets each for the CAHNR/RHSA Commencement Ceremony. Guest tickets can be picked up at the UConn Bookstore starting late March 2026.  View more details, including the Ticket Desk Hours, here.

 

Reception

Our reception immediately prior to Commencement is a long-standing tradition! We invite you and your guests to join us on the back terrace of the Student Union from 3:30-5:00pm and enjoy the informal atmosphere of celebration; refreshments will be served.

There is no need for you to RSVP for this event.

Moving On Survey

All graduating students are required to complete a Graduate “Huskies Moving On” Survey prior to participating in the CAHNR/RHSA Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony. We will be sending reminder emails once the link becomes available.

We hope that Commencement Day will be a joyful celebration for you, your family, and friends. We are working to make it so and look forward to your participation.
