Plans of Study
What is a Plan of Study:
Plans of Study list graduation requirements for each of our majors and minors. Students should use a Plan of Study to track their progress toward earning a degree. Students must submit a Final Plan of Study to the Registrar's Office during the semester prior to the semester they intend to graduate.
To see sample sequence of courses for various majors, please visit our Semester Sequence page.
How to find YOUR Plan of Study:
1. Be sure to use the Plan of Study that corresponds to your assigned catalog year. If you do not know your catalog year, view your Academic Requirements report in Student Admin. Refer to the "Catalog Year" section at the top of your Academic Requirements report.
2. Choose the correct Catalog Year and then the Plan of Study listed for your specific major.
If you are interested in viewing Plans of Study from previous years (not listed below), please contact our office at CAHNRAcademics@uconn.edu.
Tracking Your Progress with Plans of Study:
Paper plans of study are still available online for students to track their progress towards earning a degree. Although final plans of study are submitted online, students are highly encouraged to use the paper forms in order to understand major requirements and guide registration each semester prior to graduation. We strongly encourage students to use this form as a tool with your advisor during course registration.
StudentAdmin can generate an electronic version of your plan of study, called Academic Requirements. This report is an excellent tool to use; however, since it is a computer system there are occasional errors. We highly suggest that students use a paper form as well to track progress toward degree completion.
Submitting Your Final Plan of Study for Graduation:
All CAHNR students are required to submit their final plan of study the semester prior to the semester they plan on graduating. For example, May graduates should submit their final plan near the end of the prior Fall semester.
Final plans need advisor and department head approval before being reviewed by Degree Audit. In order to submit your final plan online via the StudentAdmin system, you first need to apply for graduation online. When submitting your online final plan of study, the 36 credit group courses the student and advisor decide to use need to be written out in one of two ways. 1) Students may write the 36 credit group courses in the comments box, or 2) Students may fill out the 36 credit group attachment page (in Word or PDF) and attach it to the online submission.
Although students are encouraged to submit their final plan online, Degree Audit will still accept paper forms. The paper version may be more appropriate for students with complicated plans, such as a high number of transfer credits, dual degree, or double majors.
